Summer Starts Here

Summer Starts Here, in Stowe

Adventure is calling, and there’s no better place to answer than Stowe. Whether you’re planning a weekend escape or a longer getaway, summer is the perfect time to experience everything our beautiful mountain town has to offer.

🚣‍♀️Spend your days hiking scenic trails, paddling the rivers and ponds by kayak or canoe, biking the area’s incredible mountain trails, or simply soaking in the fresh Vermont air.

🚵 Mountain bikers will love our newest advantage—the Cady Hill Forest trail network now connects directly to our property, making it easier than ever to hop on your bike and ride some of Stowe’s most popular singletrack without loading up the car.

After a day outdoors, unwind with handcrafted cocktails and dinner at Grant’s Restaurant, then relax on our veranda or around the fire pit as the sun sets.

🌊🚣‍♀️ Cool off Like a Local 🚣‍♀️🌊

Summer in Vermont is all about getting outside, and there’s no better way to beat the heat than discovering one of the area’s beautiful swimming holes, waterfalls, rivers, or lakes. Whether you’re looking for a quick afternoon dip, a scenic hike to a waterfall, or a relaxing day by the water, you’ll find plenty of refreshing spots just a short drive from the Inn.

Check out a few of our favorite places to cool off below, and don’t hesitate to ask our team for recommendations before you head out!

Moss Glen Falls

One of Vermont’s most iconic waterfalls, Moss Glen Falls is just minutes from the Inn and features a short, easy walk to a stunning 125 foot cascade. While it’s a beautiful spot to cool off, it’s generally considered a wading & splashing spot rather than a proper swimming hole.

Waterbury Reservoir

One of the area’s most popular summer destinations, Waterbury Reservoir is perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and picnicking. With sandy beaches, scenic mountain views, and easy access, it’s a great place to spend a relaxing day on the water. On site equipment rentals available.

Bingham Falls

A local favorite, Bingham Falls is reached by a short hike through the woods and rewards visitors with a beautiful waterfall, deep pools, and scenic rock formations. It’s a popular spot for cooling off on hot summer days, but be sure to use caution around the slippery rocks and swift water.

Sterling Pond

Tucked high in the mountains, Sterling Pond is one of Vermont’s highest-elevation trout ponds and rewards hikers with crystal-clear water and breathtaking alpine views. The moderate hike makes the refreshing scenery well worth the effort, making it a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts.

Stay in the Know

Be the first to hear about special events, seasonal menus at Grant’s, updated hours, and what’s new around the Inn.

We'll keep it thoughtful (and occasional).
